Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 4, 2026
This policy explains what data TightNumbers ("we", "us") collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. It covers the tightnumbers.com website, our Google Sheets templates, and our TightNumbers add‑ons for Google Sheets.
The short version: your spreadsheet data stays in your Google account. We do not run servers that store it, we do not sell data, and we do not share it except as described below.
1. Who we are
TightNumbers makes price book and estimating tools for trade contractors, built on Google Sheets. You can reach us at [email protected].
2. Information we collect
Website
You can browse tightnumbers.com without creating an account. Our hosting provider processes basic technical information (such as IP address and browser type) in server logs to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. We do not use this information to identify you.
Templates
Our templates are ordinary Google Sheets files. When you make a copy, that copy lives in your own Google account. We have no access to it and receive no data from it.
Google user data accessed by our add-ons
When you install a TightNumbers add‑on for Google Sheets and grant permission, the add‑on accesses:
- The current spreadsheet only. The add‑on can read and update the spreadsheet it is running in, and no other file in your Google account. This is Google's spreadsheets.currentonly permission scope.
- Your license key, if you enter one. Pro features are activated with a license key. To check that the key is valid, the add‑on sends the key (and only the key) to Gumroad, our billing provider. No spreadsheet content is included in that request.
All spreadsheet processing happens inside your Google account using Google Apps Script. We do not operate servers that receive, store, or copy your spreadsheet data.
Purchases
Purchases and subscriptions are handled entirely by Gumroad. Gumroad collects and processes your payment details, billing address, and email under its own privacy policy. We never see or store your payment card information. Gumroad provides us with basic order information (such as your email address and what you bought) so we can deliver the product and provide support.
Support email
If you email us, we receive whatever you choose to send, including your email address and any attachments. We use it only to help you.
3. How we use Google user data
We use the spreadsheet data our add‑ons access only to provide the features you see in the add‑on, inside the spreadsheet where it runs. For example, reading your price book entries to build estimates, writing calculated values, and tracking when prices were last updated.
We do not:
- Sell Google user data, or any other user data
- Share Google user data with third parties, except as described in this policy
- Use Google user data for advertising
- Use Google user data to train machine learning or AI models
- Allow humans to read your spreadsheet data, unless you ask us to for support, it is required for security purposes, or we are required to by law
4. Limited Use disclosure
TightNumbers' use of information received from Google Workspace APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
5. When we share information
We share information only in these cases:
- Gumroad. License keys are sent to Gumroad to verify Pro purchases, as described above.
- Service providers. Providers that host our website and route our email process limited technical data on our behalf.
- Legal requirements. If required by law, regulation, or valid legal process.
We do not sell, rent, or trade user data with anyone.
6. Data retention and deletion
- Spreadsheet data is never stored by us. It stays in your Google account, under your control, at all times.
- Add-on settings and license status are stored using Google's built‑in properties storage inside your own Google account, not on our systems. Uninstalling the add‑on ends its access to your spreadsheets.
- Support emails and order records are kept as long as needed to provide support and meet legal obligations, then deleted.
You can revoke an add‑on's access to your Google account at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions. To ask us to delete support or order records we hold about you, email [email protected].
7. Security
Your spreadsheet data is processed within Google's infrastructure and protected by your Google account security. The single external connection our add‑ons make, license verification with Gumroad, is encrypted over HTTPS.
8. Children
Our products are business tools for contractors and are not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
9. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the effective date above. If we ever change the way our add‑ons use Google user data, we will notify you and ask for your consent before using that data in a new way.
10. Contact
Questions about this policy or your data: [email protected]. We reply by email, typically within two business days.
